Carol Marshall is the proud owner and creative heart behind Pangaea Salon in Denver, Colorado — a salon built on connection, inclusivity, and love for all people and all textures.
Her story began over two decades ago in a barbershop called Precision Kutz and Stylze. It was there, working side-by-side with talented barbers and stylists, that Carol fell in love with the craft.
She saw how the beauty industry often separated people — by texture, by race, by what kind of hair they had — and she knew she wanted to change that. Carol made it her mission to create a space where everyone feels welcome, seen, and confident, no matter their hair type or background.
While raising her three sons, Carol turned that vision into reality — starting with a small salon in her basement, built with heart, hustle, and a dream. She wanted her children to see what was possible through hard work, faith, and community. What began as a few loyal clients quickly grew into something bigger than she ever imagined: a movement toward unity through beauty.
In 2013, she opened Pangaea Salon, named after the supercontinent that once connected all the world’s lands — symbolizing her belief that hair has no borders and that true beauty lives in diversity.
Today, Carol educates her team to do exactly what she does so they, too, can specialize in all textures — curls, coils, waves, and everything in between. She believes hairstylists should have knowledge of all hair; why stop at one texture?
The Pangaea team offers expert color, cutting, and styling services with a focus on education and empowerment. Carol is passionate about mentoring stylists and keeping her services accessible — not because she cuts corners, but because she believes everyone deserves to love their hair, maintain it with confidence, and look good all the time.
Outside the salon, Carol finds balance through yoga, journaling, and spiritual practice — grounding rituals that keep her centered, grateful, and inspired. She brings that same peaceful energy into her work, believing that hair care and self-care are deeply connected.
